Infiniti is the luxury line of cars for the NIssan brand that was launched in 1989 in North America. Today, this Nissan division is headquartered in Hong Kong and has grown to include dealerships in more than 50 countries. The following are some of the most popular Infiniti models.
The Q60 was designed to succeed the Infiniti G-series and it is popular for its flawless looks. This sedan is available in two forms, the two-door coupe and the two-door convertible, both of which ooze impeccable style and design. The Q60 is powered by the 3.7L V6 engine and depending on its options, it can produce between 325 and 348hp. With a dynamic suspension and adaptive steering, the Q60 guarantees a smooth drive.
The Infiniti QX70 is a mid-sized compact luxury crossover SUV produced between 2002 and 2017. It was initially known as the Infiniti FX up until 2013 when it was changed to QX70. This mid-size SUV is modelled after the Nissan FM platform with the 2017 QX70 spotting the 3.7 AWD engine with seven-speed automatic transmission and adaptive shift control. In terms of styling, the QX70 has an aggressive exterior, bearing some semblance with the Nissan Murano.
Even though the Infiniti EX might have changed names a couple times over the years, it still remains one of the best luxury SUVs in the market. It packs a punch with its handsome looks and practicality as well as smooth drive. Powered by a 3.5L V6 engine that delivers 297hp, this crossover SUV is worth every penny. The Infiniti EX is currently marketed as the QX50.
The Infiniti FX45 is a car that blends the concepts of the SUV with those of a sports car. This model replaced the QX4 and borrows its chassis from the Nissan FM. What makes this SUV so powerful is the 4.5L V8 engine that is combined with a 5-speed automatic transmission to deliver 315hp. The FX35 can cover 60 mph in 6.3seconds and competes effectively with rivals BMW and Mercedes Benz.
1991-present Infiniti G-Series
The first and second generations of the Infiniti G- series were P10 and P11 models that came in form of sedans that were modelled after the Nissan Primera. However, Infiniti made changes on the third generation, producing the V35 which were different versions of the Nissan Skyline. These came in the form of coupes and sedans targeted mainly for the North American market. The V36 was the fourth generation of the G-series and was designed based on the Nissan 3707. Some of the features of both the V35 and the V36 were borrowed from the Infiniti M, Infiniti EX and the Infiniti FX.
Modifications in the naming convention of all Infiniti models was announced in 2013. The company designated ‘Q’ for all passenger vehicles and ‘QX’ for all its sport-utility models. With these changes in naming, Infiniti G was replaced by the Infiniti Q50 but in 2013, the Q60 was created to resuscitate the G37.
2014 Infiniti Q50
For those who desire but cannot afford the BMW 3 series, this Infiniti Q50 is the cheaper substitute. With a V6 engine combined with a seven speed automatic transmission and an option for manual transmission, the Q50 can cover 60mph in a mere 5.2seconds, delivering 328 hp. To top it up, Infiniti does not compromise on looks with this sporty ride as it features a luxurious, comfortable and spacious cabin and a gorgeous body.
