Even though it is renowned for its skyscrapers, the UAE is full of beautiful destinations where you can get away from the hustle and bustle of the city. What better way to spend the UAE public holidays and long weekends than going on a road trip with loved ones and making special memories. Wecashanycar has come up with five of the best road trip ideas that you should venture to during the long weekends and other holidays.

1. Hatta

Hatta is one of the most favourite road trip destinations for UAE residents during the summer. This destination promises a range of outdoor activities for anyone who loves cool weather and scenic beauty. That it is located 155km away from Dubai makes it the perfect escape from the harsh summer heat. If you want to go for a simple offroading trip then Hatta is  your best bet. Families often go camping and hiking on these plains. It has a few wadis which you can hike with your kids. Barbeques are allowed and can be complemented by a dip in the Hatta pools. If you are driving from Dubai you can use the E44 Al Khail Road and drive straight to Hatta. Due to its strategic location at the border of Oman and the UAE, there are several  checkpoints on the road so it is advisable to carry official identification documents to avoid any trouble.
